Study 1-on-1 over the Web at your Pace

At any time after you have completed your core course (even years later), you can add more advanced skills. We offer modules in risk management, estimating or team building. Completing the core course is a prerequisite to all of the advanced courses.

Estimating

In the estimating module, you will learn all of the major estimating techniques used by project managers. You'll also learn how to select the right technique to use in a variety of project situations. You will learn the application of the technique and then develop a series of estimates yourself using each technique with data in your estimating case study. Your instructor will coach you through the application of the various estimating techniques and also work with you on practicing presentations of estimated project duration and cost in a live simulation over the web.

Risk Management

In the risk management advanced module, you will learn tools and techniques applicable to each of the steps in the project risk management process. You'll learn the concepts and techniques ranging from how to conduct brainstorming and Monte Carlo sessions with stakeholders or experts to specific techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis of risks. You'll apply these techniques to a realistic case study and receive coaching from your instructor in the analysis of risk and also the development of risk responses and contingency plan.

 

Team building

In the team building module, you will learn how to assess the individuals on your team using techniques that will help you identify both their strengths and weaknesses. You'll also learn to design a high-performance project team culture and direct the evolution of the group to that level. You'll also learn techniques for effectively communicating with your team and for resolving the inevitable conflicts that are part of any project. You will practice what you've learned in live over the Web simulations where you conduct meetings with team members and resolve conflicts between people. Will receive coaching from your instructor on all of your work.
